MOZILLA HAS released the first beta version of Firefox 4. The latest version of Mozilla firefox 4, the open-source browser features a new add-on manager, crash protection from third party plug ins, more support for CSS3 and better performance with accelerated hardware support. It's currently only available for Windows, with Mac and Linux support to follow soon, Mozilla said.
Firefox 4 will bring a host of new features, and the first full beta release will showcase the biggest change, a big change to the user interface. The most obvious change is the tabs have moved to the top of the screen, following the lead of rival Google Chrome. "We moved the tabs to the top to make it easier to focus on the web content and easier to control. New from the last version, Firefox 4 will include support for HD video via the WebM standard, with support for a full-screen video API coming soon. The next betas for Firefox 4 will also support other HTML 5 technologies, such as scalable vector graphics for animation and web forms.
With Firefox 4 Beta, Mozilla introduces a brand new interface. It takes cues from Google Chrome, Opera and other browsers by placing the tabs on top by default, and hiding the menu bar.
In addition, Beltzner said, Web developers will be interested in some of the changes we have made under the hood. These changes include: HTML5 Parser: Run the best Web apps of today and tomorrow if a user’s browser doesn’t support HTML5, they still won’t miss out on your content. WebSockets: Build real-time, online interactions like gaming and chatting. IndexedDB: Use structured storage in your Web applications to speed them up or provide offline support. Web Console: Peek into dynamic websites with this experimental “Heads Up Display” analysis tool. Simpler Add-On Development: Authors can create Add-Ons that don’t require a restart to install, develop their Add-Ons more quickly using the new powerful Jetpack SDK, and safely connect to existing libraries using js-ctypes.Download Mozilla Firefox 4 Beta 1 click here http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/4.0b1/releasenotes/
