Mr. Arvind Kejriwal don't do opportunistic and inhuman politics over a farmer's dead body
In a very sad and unfortunate incident, a farmer named Gajendra Singh from Dausa, Rajasthan committed suicide at New Delhi's Jantar Mantar, where an APP rally against proposed amendments in Land Act, 2013 was going on. The tree from which this farmer hanged himself was just 100 meters away from the podium where Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, deputy CM Manish Sisodia along with other dignitaries were seated and AAP leader Kumar Vishwas was delivering his speech.
From TV visuals it was clear that Gajendra Singh had climbed on the tree with a long broom (the election symbol of AAP). Before he hanged himself, he was saying something showing the broom. Later some AAP volunteers climbed the tree to bring down Gajendra and sent him to hospital where doctors declared him as 'brought dead'.

TV channels have to say that no AAP leader got down from the podium to stop the farmer from committing suicide rather they watched the suicide from the podium.

It was an inhuman act by Arvind Kejriwal and his party that they continued the rally and their speeches even after this unfortunate event. If you are raising farmer's issue, then you also must show some emotions towards a farmer, who was making suicide attempt. Why the chief minister Kejriwal continued the rally attacking opponents even after the farmer's serious condition? Is such politics on the dead body of a farmer fair? Where is your humane side?

Before asking serious questions to AAP, let me answer some of the charges levelled by AAP and others against Modi government. There might be some differences and even opposition, but no farmer has yet committed suicide against land acquisition bill or even for land acquisition. Narendra Modi government's land ordinance was brought only after Chief Ministers request.

One should be very clear that land is always acquired by state governments and not by central government. Further the ordinance has a provision that Chief Ministers have the right to include the consent and SIA at their will. Thus Central government is not cracking a whip, rather giving power to state to implement as per their suitability. Thus the non-BJP governments who are opposing the bill can include the clauses. It's just politics because none of the opposition parties ever mention that.

Next, if farmers are in distress, then it's because of their crop loss due to unseasonal rains. Even the farmer Gajendra Singh mentioned this in his suicide note. For this distress, one can't again hold Modi government responsible. The Prime Minister much earlier has announced 50% additional compensation along with lowering the qualification criteria to get the compensation to 33% crop loss.

Centre also arranges fund for compensation. But the central government has no role in distributing the compensation. It's again state's responsibility to pay the compensation as declared by centre as soon as possible. Thus if farmer's are committing suicide because of crop loss, then its responsibility of the concerned state governments!

Now coming back to AAP's rally, yes in politics generally parties selectively ignore some facts and selectively raise some facts. Everyone does this hence I wouldn't blame AAP for this. The point is AAP leaders could have stopped their speeches for some time to check the condition of the victim. AAP should have cancelled the rally showing solidarity with the farmer as well as all farmers in distress.

But who cares? AAP initially alleged that this suicide is a conspiracy by opponents to malign AAP's image! Then they started speaking vociferously against Modi, BJP and even the Congress.

Point is very simple, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, the farmer from Rajasthan didn't commit suicide at Rajasthan. He committed suicide at the platform provided by you for the sake of farmer's interest. The farmer travelled from Rajasthan to your rally point, holding your election symbol and committed suicide in front of you. What does it mean?

Mr. Kejriwal, in either case, you just presented your opportunistic, selfish, inhuman and insensitive face. Aam Aadmis (common men) never expected it!
