Mulayam Singh needs to do serious introspection of his statements
Mulayam Singh Yadav, the chief of Samajwadi Party said in a rally at Moradabad that ?Rape accused shouldn't be hanged. Boys make mistakes'. He further said that he will support provisions for legal action against those who misuse anti-rape law.
The statement may look simple but really represent a poor mindset. For example the new anti-rape law doesn't carry a death penalty. Capital punishment will only be applicable if the rape charge is associated with murder or attempt to murder. Thus saying that rape accused shouldn't be hanged, in fact Mulayam Singh Yadav indirectly making himself against death penalty for the rape accused who even murder the victim?

Again what it means to say boys make mistake? Does he think rape is a mistake? If he thinks so can he be a Prime Ministerial candidate in our country? Isn't he admitting himself as a supporter of the feudal mindset like the Khap Panchayats!

Already he did a blunder in endorsing Ajam Khan's attempt to divide Indian Army on religious basis although he was a former defense minister. He could be Prime Minister had V.P. Singh didn't spoil his party!

Many UP people & SP supporters see him as a potential Prime Ministerial candidate. How can he display such irresponsible mindset? One can understand for the sake of vote, many go little beyond established decency. But has he not gone too far with such insensitive comments.

He might be thinking UP voters are fool. He must have to do serious introspection in his speeches/comments on public platform, else would be sent to oblivion by sensible citizens of the country!
