TWO NEIGHBORS in the Indian Premier League, Mumbai Indians and Pune Warriors, will meet at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium in the 21th match of the IPL 2011. The Sachin Tendulkar-led Mumbai Indian and Yuvraj Singh-led Pune Warriors will play their fourth match in the tournament.
Mumbai Indians team started the IPL 2011 season with an eight-wicket victory against Delhi Daredevils. Lasith Malinga restricted Delhi on 95 runs in 17.4 overs with his figure of 13/5 in 3.4 overs. In the next match against Royal Challengers Bangalore MI chased the target of 141 runs in 18.3 overs and won the match by nine wickets.
In its third match in the IPL against Kochi Tuskers Kerala played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai Indian lost by eight wickets. In this match batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar scored his maiden hundred in the T20 format. Tendulkar is the leading run getters of IPL 2011 and he has never lost his wicket in the ongoing IPL 2011.
Before losing to the Delhi Daredevils team in its third match of the IPL, newly inducted Pune Warriors won both its opening ties. Pune team started its journey of IPL against Kings XI Punjab by a seven-wicket victory. In the next match it won against Kochi Tuskers by four wickets.
In its third IPL match, Pune Warriors set the target of 188 runs for Delhi Daredevils with the help of a 27-ball 60 runs by Jesse Ryder, and a 32-ball innings of 66 runs by Yuvraj Singh. The Delhi team won that match by three wickets. In the bowling department, Yuvraj claimed four wickets.
For the Mumbai team Kieron Pollard and Harbhajan Singh have not been amongst wickets. However, MI batsmen Sachin Tendulkar and Ambati Rayudu are playing good cricket. Other batsmen are not getting enough chance to show their skill.
For the Pune Warriors, Graeme Smith and Robin Uthappa are not performing with their bat upto their skills. Alphonso Thomas, Shrikant Wagh and Wayne Parnell have been expensive with the ball. In the IPL 2011, Jesse Ryder has the highest strike-rate among players, who scored more then 100.
