Mumbai Indians vs. Somerset CLT20 second semi final tonight, RCB sails into final
The winner of the second semi final between Mumbai Indians vs. Somerset will play against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday, October 9 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai in the final of the Champions league T20 Cricket 2011.

AFTER AN entertaining Friday evening, Champions League T20 Cricket 2011 is again appearing on Saturday, October 8 with two new teams, Mumbai Indians and Somerset, in the second semi-final of the CLT20 2011 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.


Mumbai Indians, who is without Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, Munaf Patel and Davy Jacobs in the Champions League T20 2011,  because of injuries, was second in group 'A' with five points from four games, whereas the other semi finalist of this evening, Somerset, came through the qualifying round and was on top in group 'B' with five points.

In the semi final, the Harbhajan Singh-led Mumbai Indians team will have to go back to the four foreign players rule after Suryakumar Yadav has been allowed to return to the team. Mumbai Indians is struggling with in-consistent batting performance in the ongoing CLT20 Cricket 2011 so far. In two games MI batsmen scored 99 and 100 runs. However, once Mumbai Indians scored 176 runs in the group stage. Mumbai Indians batting is highly dependent on Aiden Blizzard, Ambati Rayudu and Kieron Pollard. Andrew Symonds, who has scored just 26 runs in the four league games, is likely to sit on the bench in the semi final of the Champions League T20 Cricket 2011.

In bowling, Mumbai Indians will mainly dependent on Lasith Malinga, Captain Harbhajan Singh and Abu Nechim Ahmed. Malinga, who is one of the best bowlers in the on-going CLT20 tournament, and has the potential to derail any batting line-up.

Somerset has shown consistency in batting throughout the Champions league T20 2011. Its batsmen Peter Trego, Craig Kieswetter and Roelof van der Merwe who all have half-centuries in the tournament and the Somerset batsmen have best used the power play restrictions in every single game. In bowling Murali Kartik and Captain Alfonso Thomas never allow batsmen to go for big hits.

In the first semi final of the CLT20 last evening, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated New South Wales by six wickets in a high scoring match. After batting first, NSW set the target of 204 runs for RCB with the help of back-to-back 100 by David Warner. In reply, RCB chased the target back-to-back 200+ target just in 18.3 overs with the help of brilliant knock by Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli. The highlight of the game was many T20 records and 26 sixes.

Mumbai Indians vs. Somerset second semi final of the Champions League T20 will telecast live on Star Sports, ESPN from 8:00 pm onwards.
