The Mummers Parade 2010 is taking place in Philadelphia on New Year day after many fears that it wouldn't take place. The Mardi Gras like festivities will take the pre-decided Mummers parade route.

Fears over the cancellation of the Mummers Parade 2010 were eased on the with the announcement that the Mardi Gras like celebrations won't happen. Heavily festooned bands of comics, string bands and other performers took to the streets around 10:00 AM as the skies cleared.
 
As they take the well established Mummers parade route, it will start at 10:00 AM with the comics division stepping off at Broad Street and Washington Avenue. The Fancy Division starts at 10:30 PM led by surfers, astronauts and a polar bear with penguins and the string bands go at 11:00 from Broad and Oregon.
