Anayirangal: Anayirangal Dam is surrounded by Tata Tea plantations and tall tree forests. This dam is 22 km away from Munnar.
The Christ Church: - The Church was sanctified way back in 1910. The exteriors have got dilapidated with time though the charming interiors still have a very nice appeal. It was sanctified way back in 1910 and still has 14 original rows of pews. The Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church is the first Catholic Church in the High Ranges.
Devikulam: Seven km away from Munnar; it brings life to a halt when you discover these dense forests. Another idyllic picnic point is Sita Devi Lake with gorgeous surroundings.
Eravikulam National Park: It was acknowledged as the National park since 1978 and is barely 20km north of Munnar.
Top Station: Placed at 2200 m above sea level, this mountain offers gorgeous view of the valley and adjoining state Tamil Nadu.
Mattupetti Dam: Is another important place for fun and frolic which is 10 km away from Munnar, which is endowed with activities like boating and horse riding and is a beautiful destination especially when u are accompanied by children.
Mattupetti Indo-Swiss Farm: Also famous by the name of cattle village, Tamil refugees once raised their cattle over here. The chilly weather and fodder which is found in large quantity makes it an idyllic place for the Indo-Swiss dairy farm.
Echo Point: Every deafening scream made from this place comes back manifold by the echo from the adjoining hills.
Anamudi Peak: This peak happens to be within Eravikulam National Park. In south of the Himalayas this is perhaps the tallest peak. On the slant of the hills thrive all kinds of exceptional flora and fauna. Other uncommon variety of fauna discovered here are the Nilgiri Langur, the lion-tailed macaque, leopards, tigers, etc.
Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary: This sanctuary is situated 20km from Kothamangalam on the road between Ernakulam and Munnar.
Reaching Munnar:
It is about 4.5 hours from Kochi. Between Kothamangalam and Adimali, one can enjoy a nice drive through a natural forest. One can see many cool waterfalls. Once one is at Adimali, Munnar is barely an hour away. The view is very lovely during the early mornings. Madurai (Tamil Nadu) Airport is barely 140 Km away and Cochin International Airport is 190 Km away.
