Murder of ADC Sonawane is a blot on the system
After every incident, hue and cry is made for few days and after that the activities of the mafia goes on unabated with the help of politicians and officers and police. Adulteration has reached alarming proportions.
THE DAY we were celebrating the Republic Day, national dailies carried the shocking news of brutal murder of Malegaon Additional District Collector Yashwant Sonawane by the oil mafia in broad daylight.

The images shown on TV channels showing a burning Sonawane has shocked the entire nation. It is more scary and shocking that criminals and even those involved in oil pilferage going scoot free as it discourages the whistle blowers and honest officers who are very few in present system.

From brutal murder of Manjunath Shanmugam, an Indian Oil corporation employee by petrol pump owners for his efforts to check adulteration of fuel and killing and attack on several activists of Right to information Act the list is endless.

After every incident, hue and cry is made for few days and after that the activities of the mafia goes on unabated with the help of politicians and officers and police. Adulteration has reached alarming proportions. Be it in fuel, or food items or sale of spurious drugs.

It is shocking that we have failed to save the honest officers. In such cases of brutal killings fast track courts should give judgement in fixed time and exemplary punishment should be given to the accused's so that it set example for others.

This case is more shocking than the much talked about case of Adrash society scam. Retired IPS officer Kiran Bedi has described it as total collapse of system right from top to bottom and is result of nexux of corrupt politicians and district administration.

Maharashtra chief minister has ordered high level probe into the matter but the family members of the victim have demanded CBI enquiry which must be accepted without any delay. Sonawane's personal assistant is reported to have told that he kept on waiting for the arrival of forces and was set on fire while recording pilferage on his mobile.

Reports says that he had spotted a person taking out fuel from oil tanker and when questioned several people came and set him on fire after beating him. Deputy chief minister of the state Ajit Pawar has described the incident as a blot on humanity but this is blot on state governments face.

The incident has triggered protests from officers, who have gone on one day's strike. There are reports that a large portion of kerosene oil which is of one sixth price of petrol is pilfered for mixing it in petrol.

Indian Express has reported quoting Mharashtra DGP Sivanandhan that the police action to crackdown on the mafia network after murder of Sonawane was just to satisy media and the fact is that the police has no powers to inititate such actions. It further reports that a govt notifiation of 2005 clearly states that police should not initiate action against the mafia.

This is the Nexus of Local Politicians, Custom & Excise Officials, Police Officials, Monster Mafias etc?????? and the Loot of Govt Depots and Storage is on going from last 30-35 years in many states. On every Tankers & Trucks the Looter Share Holders price is fixed. Some time after Looting 70-75% of Stock they put Oil Depots, Godowns [on Sea Ports ] and Food Storage on fire or damage to show the lost is due to fire or rain. India cannot afford killings of the Honest Whistle Blower Officers and RTI Activists and must stand up to bring this Monster Nexus down. BJP should file an petetion in SC to probe this Nexus. Death penalty must be asked for all convicted, including their ?????? RING LEADERS ??????. JAI HIND.
