Music may get its 'feet' with Indian Coke Studio season 2
July is the month when music lovers may find nirvana in what they call Coke Studio, as it is the time when they can hope for a revitalized Coke Studio season 2 with a new life. The well-versed music legend Leslei Levis could not produce the Jubilation, which could have been produced otherwise. The magic secured its hideout at some far away abode and music was quarantined from it to a corner. Moreover, the kinda TRP which was expected with its first season remained in the expectations only.

A DUD in terms of producing great numbers and compositions, but without exception, a success in terms of giving a common platform, an international exposure to the budding and biggies of music arena, Coke Studio has created a wave of current for 'N' number of musical profiles. Budding artistes got to work with big names of music world - a learning experience for them and another added feat to their otherwise low-lying profiles. Papon - the talented Assamese composer and singer got a global recognition at a large scale with Coke Studio and became a household name. Several other names could also get something what they might have been longing for so long.

Music is all about experimenting, creating and re-creating, and this is what had been tried with Coke Studio's season 1. Many a times, things go as per our expectations and at times they are not at par with the level of experiments or can say with the expectations, but there is always a scope of improvement - to make it better to what it was the last time. And this is what Coke Studio season 2 is trying to do with inputs from Leslie that "We have to think what can be done differently in season 2."

And to usher the music to hit the right destination, we have celebrated musicians such as Amit Trivedi, Shantanu Moitra and the trio Shakar-Ehsaan-Loy this time, mentoring the artistes and music for Coke Studio season 2.

More than 200 artistes have been working tirelessly for this musical ensemble. Also, mavericks such as Nitin Sawhney, Karsh Kale, Papon, Hitesh Sonik and Clinton Cerejo have joined hands to hit the right notes and strings for season 2. Under the tutelage of people of such understanding of music, we can hope for something what I would call "A perfect amalgamation of musical-instincts", a spectacular music event. We can expect for something which they call: "One good thing about music is that when it hits you, you don't feel any pain", something to relieve life's pain.

With the ongoing strenuous efforts it can be said that a day will come when Coke Studio will become a pan-India musical movement. From a dud to one of its kind, from underwhelming to overwhelming, from poignancy to jubilation, countless hearts have been avidly awaiting a spectacular Coke Studio season 2 show. Eating the humble pie of the 1st season would not be so easy, but as they say, "We learn the most from our own mistakes," the zeal of the currently involved musical-mavericks indicates that the erstwhile season's not-up-to-the-mark outcome will be transformed into an euphoria which will tranquilize the listeners.

The outcome will be a cult which will provide the marvel to the listeners. Supersiding the season 1, season 2's odyssey can be foresighted as a renaissance with which music will regain its lost sheen and in Indian Coke Studio the listeners/audiences can see a match to Rohail Hyatt's Pakistan Coke Studio. Let's hope that music will be provided sustenance with the upcoming season 2.
