WITH SEVEN senior cricketers including former captain Virender Sehwag are not attending the Ranji camp organised by Delhi District Cricket Association on Wednesday (August 19), it seems the tension simmering in Delhi cricket has finally broken out in a full fledged mutiny.
Seven players including Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Ishant Sharma, Rajat Bhatia, Mithun Manhas, Chetan Nanda and Punit Bisht were not present at the conditioning camp being organised by DDCA at Firozshah Kotla.
The players are protesting against the manipulation in the team selections by DDCA functionaries as well as the corruption prevailing in the Delhi cricket association. Unhappy with the prevailing situation, Delhi skipper Virender Sehwag had threatened to walk out of the Delhi Ranji team, if things did not improve.
Meanwhile, DDCA is going all out to pacify the Indian opener to keep him with the the Delhi side. Some senior former cricketers have called upon Sehwag to discuss the issues being raised by him in Bangalore.
Sehwag has also received support from senior Delhi players including Gautam Ghambir and Ishant Sharma on the issue.
