MYTOONS.COM, a premier online animation community, is co-sponsoring the Toronto ’MonsterJam’ animation contest. Animators are required to create a 10-second animated film featuring monsters created with any animation technique.

“MyToons is excited about co-sponsoring the first MonsterJam. We encourage everyone to get their monster animations turned in and we look forward to seeing the monstrous results in Toronto in June,” said Paul Ford, the co-founder and president of MyToons.

Animations should be submitted to the Toronto Animated Image Society (TAIS) and will be edited into a film, which will be screened at the TAIS Summer Showcase at the National Film Board Cinema in Toronto, in late June.

The participants will have to submit the film on CD/DVD-Rom in a 720 x 480 QuickTime format. It should include name, contact info, a brief bio-data , and two still photographs in JPG format.

MyToons.com is the world’s premier online animation community. Launched in the spring of 2007, the community provides global content creators with a free platform to share their original animations, artwork and games with animators, enthusiasts and fans worldwide.

Combining high-quality video file streaming with best-in-class social networking for animators, MyToons.com showcases the greatest variety of independent and studio animation anywhere.

It allows the artists to share their techniques, discuss their thoughts and ideas, and explore their commonalities in a robust visual environment.
