'Leadership India-leading change', changing lives was unveiled by Infosys chief N.R. Narayana Murthy during Star News Award and World HRD Congress. The book has been written by Saugata Mitra.
IN A glittering ceremony at the Star News Award and World HRD Congress recently, the book Leadership India-leading change,changing lives, written by Bhaskar Chatterjee (Secretary Department of Public Enterprises) and Saugata Mitra (Chief People Officer & Group Head HR-Mother Dairy) was released by the Founder of Infosys, N.R. Narayana Murthy.
The book is unique and first of its kind, highlighting the exemplary work of 13 Indians who made a big difference in the lives of people. It speaks of economics and public good going hand-in-hand. It talks about Home Groomed Leadership, which is relevant and can be easily replicated in Indian Scenario. The authors are of the view that with India on the verge of becoming a superpower, it is necessary that Indian management philosophy develops an independent path, a path and philosophy that is best suited with the Indian ethos.
It is high time that one needs to dissassociate western management thoughts based on raw capitalism. The Indian ethos are deeply rooted into the philosophy of “Business with Compassion”. Speaking on the occasion of the release Chatterjee said, "We wanted to talk about Leadership, primarily home groom connected with the root and the soil. The leadership has been chosen from across the Sectors”.Adding further Mitra said, "Indian Leaders are the first in the World who along with the rich and wealthy provides the same service and product to millions at the bottom of the pyramid, leaders with vision, mission and compassion”. The authors stated that search for leadership is on. Every year at the same time and on same day, we want to bring out the next edition of our book “Leadership India-leading change, changing lives”, featuring a different set of leaders.
