Narendra Modi meets Japanese Ambassador; discusses business ties
Japan's ambassador to India Takesai Yagi called on Narendra Modi to discuss possibilities of strengthening ties on industrial, economic and social development fronts between Japan and Gujarat.

JAPANESE ENVOY told Narendra Modi that a high level business delegation from Japan will visit the state and participate in the 'Vibrant Gujarat Summit' in 2013. Takesai Yagi said that Japan will also organize two seminars on the subjects of Urban transport and Land and Infrastructure in February-March 2013.

India and Japan have signed a cooperation pact for 19 projects. Oout of them, seven have been proposed in Gujarat. Japan has also proposed two 'Smart City' projects in Gujarat's industrial zones of Dahej and Sanand. As per the statement released after the meeting, Yaga showed his interest in the state's rooftop solar pilot project.

During the meeting, Modi assured the Japanese envoy of full cooperation from the state government for setting up a de-salination plant at Dahej, besides establishment of a high speed rail project at Dholera. Takesai also visited Ahmedabad’s Janmagar-BRTS and Sabarmati river front projects during his visit.

Notably, Modi had been to Japan during the month of July this year in a bid to expand business ties between Gujarat and Asia's second largest economy.
