Naroda Patya massacre ruling exposes self-styled protectors of Hindus
The perpetrators of this embarrassing, shocking and savage incident must be handed over harshest punishments so that a precedent can be set. In the name of religion nobody should be allowed to malign the social fabric of incredible India.

THE BARBARIC Naroda Patiya butchering of 95 Muslim breathren is finally on the threshold of justice with the conviction of 32 people Wednesday by a trail court in Ahmedabad. The strenuous judicial procedure took a decade to nail the murderers of humanity.

For the victims, it was a huge sigh of relief, after a protracted struggle to receive juctice for their loved ones, who were assassinated in broad daylight by some myopic, barbaric right-wing people. The only fault of the deceased was their Muslim identity. The innoncent victims were killed for none of their faults.

The blasphemous incident took place on February 28, 2002 post the Godhra train burning incident. The unfortunate incident took place during a blockade called by self-styled patron of Hindus, Vishwa Hindu Parishad to express the solidarity with the victims of Godhra train burning.

The judgment also exposed some so called self proclaimed contractors of rich Hindu culture, heritage, customs and traditions. Former Gujarat minister Mayaben Kodnani of BJP and a leader from Bajrang Dal, an affiliate of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Babu Bajrangi have been found guilty for the infamous incident.

I am not painting BJP as a whole as a communal political outfit, but certainly there are some elements, who are baking their political bread and butter by spewing venom against a certain community. Tears flow incessantly, heart immerses in nostalgia just by thinking about the pain, trauma of the victims’ families. Everyday they are enduring the pain of losing their loved ones to man-made riots.

The perpetrators of this embrassing and shocking incident must be handed over harshest of the harsh punishment so that a precedent can be set. In the name of religion, nobody should be allowed to malign the social fabric of incredible India. These so called patrons of Hindus should not be allowed to proliferate hate against one of the greatest religions on the planet, Islam.

These anti-social elements should not forget that the same religion has blessed mother India with legendary scientist, APJ Abul Kalam. We can’t also squat over the contribution made by Abul Kalam Azad during the liberation of mother India from the clutches of colonial rule.

I am proud of my roots but as a Hindu will never patronize hatred against any religion. These so called patrons of Hindu culture have harldy done anything concrete to wipe out castesim, gender-bias and many other curses still prevailing in Hinduism.

Well said. I am just wondering how can they even call themselves secular when their party leaders make their careers out of the corpses of innocent members of minority community. Shame!
