Nation pays rich tributes to Dr. BR Ambedkar on his 63rd Mahaparinirvan Diwas
Dr BR Ambedkar Mahaparinirvan Diwas, December 6, was observed across the nation in which various leaders cutting across the political lines, social activists and Dalit activists, educationists and students paid rich tributes to the architect of the Indian Constitution, Dr BR Ambedkar.

"The President Shri Ram Nath Kovind led the nation in paying homage to Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb Dr BR Ambedkar on his 63rd Mahaparinirvan Diwas here today. He offered floral tribute at the statue of Baba Saheb at Sansad Bhavan lawns in the Parliament House complex this morning," stated an official release.

It added, "The Vice President Shri M Venkaiah Naidu, the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Speaker, Lok Sabha Smt Sumitra Mahajan also offered tribute to the Father of the Indian Constitution, Dr Ambedkar."

Prime Minister Narender Modi, in his recent radio talk on Constitution Day Mann Ki Baat remembered Dr BR Ambedkar and stated, "We remember him and bow before him on his Mahaparinirvan Diwas on 6th of December. Baba Saheb's contribution in making the country prosperous and strong can never be forgotten."

"My dear countrymen, today is 26/11. The 26th of November is our Constitution Day. The Constitution of India was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on this day in the year nineteen forty-nine," said PM Modi.

At the function that was organized by the Ambedkar Foundation, an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, various prominent leaders paid floral tributes to Baba Saheb included the Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Dr Thaawarchand Gehlot, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale, Krishan Pal Gurjar, Vijay Sampla and other dignitaries.
