Nation remembers Gandhiji on his 69th death anniversary
The nation remembered Mahatma Gandhi on his 69th death anniversary on January 30. In institutions and offices two-minute silence was observed at 11.00 am to remember Gandhiji and other martyrs. Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated on January 30, 1948 during his evening prayer.

President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to the Father of the Nation. All three leaders offered floral tributes at Gandhi's memorial at Rajghat in New Delhi where an interfaith prayer was held.

Gandhi had once said, "Non-violence is the greatest force at the disposal of mankind. It is mightier than the mightiest weapon of destruction devised by the ingenuity of man." The message still holds good.

Gandhi had also enumerated 'Seven Social Sins', which are as follows:

-Politics without principles.

-Wealth without work.

-Pleasure without conscience.

-Knowledge without character.

-Commerce without morality.

-Science without humanity.

-Worship without sacrifice.
