THIRTY FOUR Australian nationals visited Navjyoti India Foundation for a exposure trip organized to meet the community on February 16,17. This trip has been organized by the Australian Rural Leadership Program 2009-2010. The Australian Rural Leadership Program 2009-2010 is a unique opportunity for selected rural and regional leaders to undertake a program of personal growth and develop the skills, knowledge and networks needed to be effective in regional, state, national and international arenas.
The program focuses on professional and personal leadership development, examination of key national and international issues that impact on rural Australia, and interaction with leaders in government, industry and the community. This event let the Australian nationals have a key insight into the working of the rural community as a large. It gave them new ideas taken from their field visits and few were shared with the community too. The visit ended with a forty five minute interaction with Dr. Kiran Bedi, General Secretary, Navjyoti India Foundation. Dr. Bedi shared her experience as a police officer and how welfare policing led to the creation of Navjyoti to where it is here today
