People by and large, want peaceful co-existence and normal business to go. Nobody wants to live under the gun culture. Unfortunately, millions of innocent people who have nothing to do with any sort of violence and struggle for power fell prey to the evil designs of these militant organisations.
In India, the Naxal groups active in some eastern states, have started following the Taliban model. They have forgotten the fate of the LTTE, which followed a similar path and obliterated not to long ago. Gun has got no place in present day world.
The recent turnout in the Maharashtra polls should serve as an eye-opener to all the Naxal groups active in the region. The people have rejected their call for boycotting the polls and now they must shun violence. If the tribal people have some problem then, they must come out to have a dialogue with the government. They must form a delegation and meet elected members, who would be happy to extend all possible assistance to them.
Blowing up railway tracks, torching police stations and killing government and private officials would not help them in anyway. They must realise that their acts of destruction would only take the nation backward and in the end that would not be giving any benefits to their own.
