NCSC State Level Teachers' orientation workshop held
In the work shop about 75 teachers of Jammu district and district coordinators and district academic coordinators of all the districts were provided orientation regarding focal theme 'Energy: Explore, Harness and Conserve' and various sub themes alloted for the National Children Science Congress 2012 - 13.

A STATE-level orientation workshop of teachers/ resource persons for the 20th National Children Science Congress was organised by National Council for Urban and Rural Development at Dogra Hr. Sec. School Shastri Nagar Jammu.

The programme was started by a welcome address by Zafferullah Khan, state coordinator NCSC which was followed by a detailed introduction about NCSC by Dr. Ashiq Hussain, Asstt. professor Chemistry, P.G. College Bhaderwah, the Chief resource person. He also aquainted the participants about various modalities needed for framing a good NCSC Project.

Later, resources persons Arshad Hussain Dev through a light on sub themes Energy Resources and Energy Systems, Kuldeep Gupta on Energy & Society and Energy & Environment whereas Dr Ashiq Hussain discussed last sub-themes Energy Management & Conservation and Energy Planning & Modelling.

On the occasion, an activity guidebook published for 20th NCSC was also released and distributed among participants for onward distribution to children. The programme concluded with an address by Avinash Chander Aima, Joint Director (Chief Guest). He lauded efforts of NCSC in general and NCURDS in particular for achieving this goal and stressed for organising such programmes on large scale.
