ND Tiwari's DNA test instills hope in Sanchita Dhali's case

Buoyed by the developments in the paternity suit filed by Rohit Shekhar against Congressman ND Tiwari in which DNA tests proved him biological father of Shekhar, Sanchita Dhali hopes that Arbind Dhali would also be forced to undergo similar tests to prove her fatherhood claims.

SANCHITA DHALI has been claiming to be the daughter of Jayadev constituency MLA Arbinda Dhali though he refused her claim and even was reluctant to go for a DNA test. Sanchita claimed her mother Kamala Dhali was divorced about 15 years back by Arbinda Dhali before getting married to another woman.

Sanchita had complete confidence for winning the case after the DNA test of the veteran Congress leader N D Tiwari proved that he was the biological father of 32-year-old Rohit Shekhar in a similar case.

Sanchita has been fighting the battle for the last 3 years and once again approached State Commission for Woman Chairperson Jyoti Panigrahi and urged her to fight on her behalf and also initiate legal proceedings for lifting High Court stay order on DNA test of the MLA Arabind Dhali.

Panigrahi, while assuring her legal aid by referring her case to District Service Legal Authority stated SCW can't challenge High Court stay and Sanchita has to appeal against the stay order in the court.

However, Sanchita after meeting Panigrahi expressed her helplessness and decided to approach the High Court Chief Justice if no action was taken by SCW in few days.

The politically and financially strong Arabinda Dhali made the struggle of Sanchita tougher by putting pressure on the courts and lawyers, who refused to fight her case.

When contacted, she told this citizen journalist that success of paternity suit failed by Rohit Shekhar had brightened her prospectus of getting justice. If the test influenced leader like Tiwari, then Arbinda Dhali who stood nowhere near him can also be made to undergo a similar test, she hoped.

The Women's commission had directed police to conduct a DNA test but Arbinda Dhali got it stayed with a court order. This DNA test against Arbinda Dhali will be the first in the state and probably second in India after ND Tiwari's test.
