Veteran Odia journalist and political leader Soumya Ranjan Patnaik said that the new NDA government at the Centre would never neglect non-BJP states.
He said, "Allegations and counter allegations are very common in election campaigning it will not affect new government's policy making and funding for non-BJP states. The center will allocate funds to all states as per the Raghuram Rajan Committee without neglecting anyone." In center BJP will rule and in Odisha BJD will rule and no such problems will arise, he added.
Prominent economist Dr Bhagaban Swain stated, "States get fund from center in three different ways by Finance Commission, Planning Commission and through central ministry. And PM has the power to withdraw special schemes and fundings granted by the Planning Commission that funds special packages for backward states and districts. Some times in a collaboration government the supporting parties bargain for special demands and get it, it depends on their bargaining strength and importance to run the ally. But I think the Modi lead NDA government and BJP will neither neglect nor turn their eyes from non-BJP ruled states, rather the new government will work for the inclusive growth."
Kaveri Chakraborti, a political science professor, at University of Calcutta said, "Since late fifties and mid sixties there had been different governments in the state of West Bengal and at the Center. But there had never been any issue regarding the development of the state. This time also I do believe that there won't be any issue regarding the development of the West Bengal."
