Need for awareness: Doda holds anti-narcotics meet
Sensing the need to curb menace of drugs, mostly in schools and colleges, Doda district development has chaired an extraordinary meeting and stressed upon the enforcement agencies to accelerate efforts to stop smuggling and transportation of narcotic drugs.

UNDERLINING THE need for awareness about the harmful effects of Narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, particularly in schools and colleges, District Development Commissioner chaired a meeting of District level anti-narcotics Task Force in Doda yesterday.


DDC Farooq Ahmad Khan asked the Chief Education Officer, Doda to organize symposiums, debates and seminars in the Educational institutions particularly in the colleges and higher secondary schools in the district so that the student community is educated to be refrained from taking drugs containing substances like opium, Charas, Ganja, Newla, Tobacco etc.


According to an official press release, DDC also stressed upon the officers to organize awareness programmes among Sarpanches, Panches, Lambardars and Chowkidars in the rural areas, so that they educate the people in rural areas. Ahmad also stressed upon the officers of the enforcement agencies i.e Police and Drug controller to accelerate the enforcement activities, so that the smuggling and transportation of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances is fully curbed.
