There are lakhs and lakhs of NCC cadets in India. If NCC is made well the cadets get more motivated and will join the Army. And also there should be more reservations for aspiring NCC cadets. The deficiency can met with these NCC cadets who wish to join army. But the selectors should select aspirants genuinely and liberally. There should not see recommendations or military backgrounds. Is there anybody listening?

THE WAY,those retired officers have been deprived ,,almost cheated of their legitimate pensions at par even with low level grade officers of central govt for decades; this truth is in the air and visible to one and all in the country.those officers who struggled and bleeded through those wars of 1962,1965 and 1971;and defended the Nation bringing victory and glory to the country ,find that their financial and social standing in society is lower than even cl 3 employees of Govt. seeing all this why should any suitable youth sacrifice his life and subject himself to all that misery? Only those who do not find employment in any other activity have been coming to join officer cadre of Armed Forces.

All this story of shortage of army officers is just a story and not reality. just go and see what army officers are doing actually on ground. all army officers should accept the facts. 50 percent of army officers at present are busy in non productive jobs which can be done by a sub inspector level officers civilian if they get to know the realities they will stop having proud on their army and also the young boys will stop joining army the writer of the article brigadier is fully aware of what i am mentioning just go and check and you will find no application for premature discharge is pending now
