Need to link learning of different subjects with language arts for cognitive enhancement
The research on linking learning of different subject with language arts is getting noticed. Both feminist pedagogy and cognitive psychology are stressing the need for destructing the linearly written and highly structural textual material and restructure in poetic language art forms.

Recently, I received an e-mail from an Indonesian research student Rizka Chuchan Xpretiouz who is writing her final thesis on the use acrostic poems to enhance the vocabulary mastery of students in a junior high school.

She had consulted my similar work in the use of acrostics, haiku, cinquain and ABC poetry for cognitive enhancement of students and feminisation of classroom instruction. She has validated my findings reported a few years ago presented in a conference.

On the World Poetry Day, celebrated on March 21, I got poetic and wrote some haiku and an acrostic poem as follows:

My Jaipur: Haiku

Charming and colorful

To tickle guests pink with its love -

That is my Jaipur.

Stunning hilltop forts,

Downtown glorious palaces -

That is my Jaipur.

Fleeting 'lahirias',

Floating bright candy floss turbans -

That is my Jaipur.

Metro 'n shopping malls,

Tourists and 'batti churma' -

That is my Jaipur.

JAIPUR: A sentence acrostic pattern poem

J: Jai Singh (II)-founded city of ruler of

A: Amber that was designed

I: In the form of eight Mandalas and

P: Planned with Vastu Shashtra tenets

U: Under the guidance of architect Vidyadhar of

R: Rangilo Rajasthan and Pink City - that?s my Jaipur.
