Inter Milan has reached an agreement to sign Manchester United defender, Nemanja Vidic, when his contract expires during the summer. This deal was on the cards, after Vidic announced that the ongoing season would be his last for the club and also made it clear that he would not join any English club.
Chairman Erick Thohir, in their club website stated, "I'm extremely happy to have completed this deal to bring Nemanja to Milan. He's one of the world's best defenders and his qualities, international pedigree and charisma will be an asset to the team and help bring through our younger players. He will bring added value to the club and is another piece of the great Inter side we are building.''
Vidic joined Manchester United from Spartak Moscow in 2006 January transfer window, after which he has been one of the most important players for the red devils. Under Sir Alex Ferguson, he primarily won every title that was there in the offing, which included 5 EPL titles, Champions League and Club World
Cup in 2008 and three League Cups as well. Such was his performance for United that he was also given the captaincy job in 2010.
Inter Milan seems to have agreed with the deal at the right time, as the player could have generated interest from Barcelona as well, as their main defender, Carlos Puyol has also decided to leave the catalans at the end of the season.
