Nemanja Vidic's last season at Manchester United
Just to make matters worse for Manchester United, Nemanja Vidic has decided to leave the club at the end of the season. He is in the last season of his contract. With the club going through a tough phase in the English Premier League, where they lie in seventh place, things are not in good shape at Old Trafford with their captain's announcement, though the player will give it his all in the remainder of the matches in the EPL and other competitions.
David Moyes was keen to keep the captain at Manchester, for he is one of the mainstays in Manchester back four. The Serbian has had an impressive stint with Manchester United, as he won an impressive 15 trophies. But, this all happened under the guidance of the former Manchester United boss, Sir Alex Ferguson, who signed him in 2005.
"It's the last year of my contract, and I have had eight wonderful years here. My time at this great club will always rank as the best years of my career. I never could have imagined winning 15 trophies and I will certainly never forget that fantastic night in Moscow (in the 2008 Champions League final win over Chelsea), memories that will live with me and the fans forever, '' said Vidic, reported AP.
The player has made it clear that he is not going to play for any other English club, as Manchester United was the only club that he wanted to represent. There are reports which suggest that Inter Milan is one of the favourites to sign the player, though the player claims that he has some options to choose from and will choose so, which will suit his family as well.
But expect a whole lot of clubs to approach the player for his signature, as he is one the best central defenders with years of experience. Clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG might also have been alerted with Vidic's intention of playing outside England.
