Neuner wins Gold, Germany's second in Olympics 2010
Magdalena Neuner of Germany has won a gold in the Olympic Games Women's 10km Biathlon today. Neuner said that she was the Olympic Champion and it was just fantastic.
 
 
Magdalena Neuner of Germany has won a gold in the Olympic Games Women's 10km Biathlon today. Hse edged out Slovakia's Anastazia Kuzmina, who had stoppd and denied her a gold three days earlier in the sprint.
 
Neuner said that she was the Olympic Champion and it was just fantastic. She added that he was just very nervous for the final and thought that it was the shot the title hung on. The 22 year said, "Then of course I fired wide and I was shaking at that point. I told myself 'just hang in there and stay on your skis. But I felt good beforehand and I resolved to concentrate hard on the shooting as I knew that in terms of skiing nobody could get the better of me." Lastly after receviing the medal, the German said that to stand there at the podiu, and hear the German National Anthem was really unbelievable.
 
Earlier on Saturday. 25 year old Kuzmina had created an upset when she won the women's sprint, which allowed her to start 1st in the pursuits, 1.5 seconds ahead of Neuner.
 
But Neuner overtook her to secure Olympic gold medal by 12 seconds. French woman Marie-Laure Brunet got a bronze at 28sec. This was France's 3rd medal after Marie's boyfriend Vincent Jay's sprint gold and Marie Dorin's sprint bronze.
