AT PRESENT, London is said to be one of the busiest hubs around the world as far as the aviation industry is concerned. Things are going to change in the coming years, as China has decided to build one of the biggest airports in the world, which would consist of 9 runways. China plans to complete the construction of the airport in 2015, and it will be known as Beijing Daxing International airport.
It has also been said that the airport would be seeing around 370,000 passengers footfalls per day. One of the busiest airports of the world, London Heathrow airport sees around 67 million annual passengers at present. By the year 2015, China would be handling around 90 million passengers so there was a serious need for a bigger airport to be built. The new airport will have the potential to hold 120 million passengers.
It was in the year, 2008, that a new terminal 3 had been opened due to the ever increasing fliers across the country. Due to this airport officials also had a tough task of scheduling flights. It is very interesting to note that London Heathrow airport is mostly used by various airlines that would be flying to different parts of the world. On the other hand, in China the passengers fly within the country rather than flying out of their country. It has been said that out of every 4 flight passengers in China’s airport, only 1 would turn out to be an international flier.
The Chinese aviation industry has been earning huge revenues. No wonder, they have greater plans to make it bigger, thus it would help in increasing their revenue in the process too. In the year 2010, they made huge profits, where the figures stood for a profit of 3.9 billion pounds. In order to meet with the growing demand, China will also be buying around 4300 new aircrafts.
