According to Zee News, new-age chromebooks like the original Chromebooks will feature a 12.1 inch screen display, 1280 x 800 screen, 4GB of RAM and would be powered by an Intel processor – processing nearly three times as fast as the first-generation of Atom-based Chromebooks. It will also feature two USB 2.0 ports, an HD camera and a DisplayPort connector and will have 6 hours of battery life.
Models that connect to the Internet through Wi-Fi are priced at $449 while those connecting on 3G start at $549, much cheaper compared to Macbook Air that costs a minimum $999.
A 'Chromebox', priced at $329 that can be plugged into display monitor to create the equivalent of desktop computer is also being introduced by Samsung and Google. Beginning in the US Tuesday followed by Wednesday release in the UK, the latest Chromebook and new Chromebox will be available online only.
