The new circle rates vary from Rs.9000 to Rs.1,25,000 per square metre against the existing circle rate which are between Rs.6,900 to Rs.43,000 per square metre.
THE RECENT Cabinet Committee report was submitted this Monday to introduce new circle rates in Delhi. Instead of the existing unit area based caetgorisation the new circle rates would be implemented. The Delhi chief Minister Sheila Dikshit informed the media that the cabinet has decided to have specific circle rates for the 2.480 colonies and localities. The new circle rates vary from Rs.9000 to Rs.1,25,000 per square metre against the existing circle rate which are between Rs.6,900 to Rs.43,000 per square metre.
Civil Lines, Defence colony, Anand Lok, Greater kailash, Friends colony, Nehru Place, Green park, Vasant Kunj and Sunder Nagar have been rate as the most expensive and the new circle rates in these areas would be Rs. 125,000 per square metre. The other areas and the respective circle areas are as given below. The new circle rates would prompt the Municipal corporation of Delhi to hike the property tax rates.
