New Delhi to host two-day workshop on research methodology
A two-day workshop on Research Methodology is going to be organized in New Delhi on December 14 and 15 'to enable researchers developing their knowledge and skill through an extensive exposure on literature review, formulation of research question, selecting appropriate study design, sample size, data management, statistical methods as well as grant writing'.

The resource material based course will be taught by a multidisciplinary team from distinguished institutes and government agencies such as AIIMS and DBT. Learning in depth through didactic lectures and hands-on is the aim of the workshop, stated the organizers of the workshop to be held at Indian Spinal Injuries Centre at Vasant Kunj of the city.

"The course will be useful to young researchers, teachers, public health professionals, students pursuing MD, DNB, MPH, MPhil, MPharm. or PhD programs; investigators from different systems of alternative medicine such as; paramedical sciences inclined to accept public health as a career, professionals working in health and development sectors, and marketing research. Limited prior knowledge of research would be useful," stated the event organizers.

The topics of the workshop are: Overview of Research Methodology; Formulation of Research Question; Literature Review; Ethics in Biomedical Research; Overview of Study Designs; Design, Conduct & Analysis of Diagnostic Tests; Variables & Measurement of Disease Frequency; Confounding, Bias and Role of Chance; Sample size; Data Management; Statistical Methods; Scientific Writing & Misconduct; Protocol development; and Funding opportunity & Grant Writing.
