New Delhi's Type-VII and Type-VIII govt accommodations victims of unauthorised occupancy
It refers to a high drama that took place in New Motibagh area in New Delhi after eviction proceedings were initiated to vacate a Type VIII government bungalow presently under occupation of Adhir Ranjan Choudhary. The proceeding had to be stopped after court granted stay. Notably this government bungalow is in New Delhi's most sought after newly built locality for senior central government officers.
It is indeed regretting that government accommodations in New Delhi are not vacated by certain persons still after more than 20 months of their losing entitlement subsequent to Lok Sabha elections in May 2014.

Fault also remains with Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha secretariats, which have failed to provide alternate accommodations to KH Muniyappa and Rajiv Shukla, while alternate accommodation to Vyalar Ravi is not yet vacant.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Virbhadra Singh also appears in the list of unauthorised occupants of Type VIII government bungalows while Jaswant Singh and Buta Singh continue to be unauthorized occupants of Type VII government bungalows in the national capital.

Action also needs to be taken against those not allotting alternate accommodations to KH Muniyappa and Rajiv Shukla. It is also a matter of enquiry how and why alternate accommodation allotted to Vyalar Ravi has not been emptied till date. Name of Buta Singh continues to be listed in the list of unauthorised occupants since June 2014.Seems Nothing can improve in this country until responsibility is fixed and guilty ones are punished for violation of rules.

All this is despite the Supreme Court verdict dated July 05, 2013 in the matter 'SD Bandi vs Divisional Traffic Officer, KSRTC & others' (Civil Appeal number 4064 of 2004) which specifically talked against over occupation of government bungalows after one month of losing entitlement with a grace of maximum one more month.

On the contrary we have ideals like Shabana Azmi who went to attend her last day in Rajya Sabha after vacating her government accommodation rightly stating that she would lose entitlement to retain it after she ceased to retain her membership of Rajya Sabha.

We note children of new Prime Minister in Britain pushing their luggage at Prime Minister's residence at 10 Downing Street (London) only because earlier Prime Minister vacated official residence immediately after losing his post.
