While clicking some shots for this article, the proprietor, thinking I was from the Press, gave me special preference and asked for the order which I obliged - him for some snacks and tea.

At present there are two kiosks that offer delicacies and beverages to customers starting from late evening to the wee hours in the morning. One can choose from Indian, Chinese and Continental delicacies.  There are other options like bakery items which are also available during the night.  I tasted few bakery items and found them crisp and tasty.

Earlier, the night food street used to offer both veg and non-veg food but from now it has gone completely vegetarian. Quite a few incidents of brawls have also taken place in the past due to unchecked drinking and availability of non-vegetarian food at this place. The area around the night food street food is now completely safe as Chandigarh Police has made arrangements for safety of the customers by deploying six constables during the night. Despite this I could not see any women folks visiting this place. I was informed that the girl students do come but before 8 pm and opt to prefer take away services only. However, few families are regular visitors to this place.

I try to interact with few customers who shared with me that food is economical and moreover available throughout the night. The night food street keeps on buzzing from 7 PM to 7AM. You can savor the food at any time during night.

So proudly, I can say that it is an ideal place for those working for late and for the students and professionals burning mid night oil. Looking for a grub in the late night then visit this wonder land of food, fun and frolic. You will definitely like this typical slice of night life in Chandigarh.
