Nirmala Venkatesh all set to move Supreme Court
She said that her removal from NCW was an instance of ?Congress conspiracy?. Venkatesh would now challenge the NCW and the Union Ministry of Women and Child Welfare for the rejection of her report on Mangalore pub attack in the Supreme Court.

NIRMALA VENKATESH, the sacked member of the National Commission for Women (NCW) resigned from the Congress on Tuesday (March 3).

She said that her removal from NCW was an instance of ‘Congress conspiracy’. Venkatesh would now challenge the NCW and the Union Ministry of Women and Child Welfare for the rejection of her report on Mangalore pub attack in the Supreme Court.

Venkatesh had recommended punishment against those who thrashed and molested girls in the Mangalore based pub, but the central committee rejected the report. While speaking to media, she said, “I recommended punishment for Ram Sena members under Section 307 of IPC, which deals with molestation and attacks on women. They were arrested and put behind bars. What more can we do? Can we hang them? Then why reject my report? I am moving the Supreme Court very soon, seeking reasons for its rejection.”

She also accused Congress saying that the party does not like the presence of efficient members in NCW. She also mentioned that she did her best in the Nithari killings and Scarlett case. Despite her outstanding performance, she has been removed from NCW.

When asked whether she would join Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or not, she answered that she has not yet decided that.

Venkatesh also blamed the victims of the Mangalore pub attack for not coming forward and diluting the case. She urged the victims to go public on the assaulters. As not a single victim came forward to identify the attackers, the case has been diluted.

When Venkatesh came to know about the attack in the Mangalore based pub, she first asked the DC to maintain law and order. She also told the DC that if there was any communal violence, the DC would be held responsible for that.
