Nirvana anniversary of Mahavira: Need to rediscover the truth independently
All truly self-realised souls have invariably held that no one should follow any one since one has to realise one's existential truth oneself. The Truth or Reality cannot be found through organised religions, at worship places, through rituals, through cults or handed down by self-proclaimed god-men or god-women.

One has to discover and rediscover the truth independently himself or herself from moment to moment as J Krishnamurti writes in book "Freedom from the Known", "Truth has no path, and that is the beauty of truth, it is living."  He also writes elsewhere, "If we are aware of this moment-to-moment truth, of this whole process of time, this awareness releases consciousness or that energy to be."

However, there is a need to understand the truth of the falsehood created by some clever people who create organisation and institutions full of rituals as 'paths' to the Truth.

In organised religions there are prescriptions, preaching, controls through rituals, fears and dependence on 'self-proclaimed authority'. These mechanisms destroy one's freedom and liberation to self-discover the Truth.

If you explore the lives of all realised souls, they themselves did not belong to any religion nor wished to have an organisation to prescribe a followership. Some clever self-proclaimed authoritative followers as inheritors of the scriptures containing preaching by conferring good-hood on the realised soul started religions and sects to rule on others' bodies and minds.

Diwali is celebrated as the anniversary of Nirvana of Bhagwana Mahavira of the Jains, there is need to revisit the essential messages that one has to discover and conquer one own self indepently.

Here are a few Haiku on self-knowledge.

First, foremost of all,

Recognise self, observe self

To realise true self.

Recognise true self -

 non-physical existence –

past body- senses

Lack of self-knowledge

That's ignorance, darkness

Light your in-self lamp
