NISSAN MOTOR Co recalled Infiniti G35 sedans and coupes due to faulty airbags that may not deploy in a crash, US regulators said on Tuesday May 4. Nissan Motors recalled about 134,000 luxurious Infiniti G35 sedans and coupes. The recall involved G35 Coupes from the 2005 to 2007 model years and G35 Sedans from the 2005 to 2006 model year. In 2010, Toyota, Honda and other motors company recalled their cars due to technical fault.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said that it was informed by Nissan of the problem two weeks ago, but Nissan had not yet provided the agency with a plan to fix the vehicles. According to NHTSA, a wire harness for the airbag may become worn, which could cause the airbags not to deploy in a crash. However, Colin Price, Nissan's spokesman said no accidents or injuries have been reported from the Nissan G35 sedans and coupes vehicles.
According to the Nissan spokesperson, about 65 percent of the vehicles recalled are sedans and about 35 per cent coupes. In the latest recall by Nissan on Tuesday May 4, about 6,200 G35 sedans and about 3,200 G35 coupes are affected in Canada. Nissan Motor Co affected models, were also sold in South Korea, Puerto Rico, Taiwan, Guam and the Middle East, were made at a Nissan plant in Japan.
