The Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari is visiting Gurgaon's NH-8 from Rajiv Chowk to Manesar. He along with two other ministers of the state will have a look at the condition of the NH 8, which connects Gurgaon to Delhi and is an important passage for the city.
Along with Gadkhari, Minister of State for Transport and Highways Krishan Pal, and Gurgaon
MP and MoS
(defence) Rao Inderjit Singh is also said to be a part of the
inspection. They are scheduled to look at the stretch between Kherki
Daula to Manesar and also look into traffic related issues on NH 8.
Heavy security has been arranged for the ministers and Deputy Commissioner Shekhar Vidyarthi is looking after the security details of the place.
It was Gurgaon
MP's request to Gadkari for intervening on the
ongoing work of constructions in various parts of the highway which
initiated this visit. Talking about it, Rao Inderjit Singh, as reported
by timesofindia.com, said, '' The Union minister has agreed to visit the
expressway and take stock of the situation. The flyover will spare the
commuters of an eight-kilometre-long drive required to take a U-turn on
the Delhi-Jaipur expressway. The construction of the flyover was delayed
due to the non-serious approach of the previous government, but soon
commuters will enjoy a smooth ride on the expressway.''
The company, who is looking after the construction work has a number
of irregularities, which has raised the concern of Singh. In his letter
to Gadhkari, he has mentioned it and has asked the ministry to see to it
that these irregularities can be done away with at the earliest, so
that the commuters have easy access.
