Nitish Govt under pressure over Maoist killing of cops
The Maoists had earlier set a new deadline which was due to expire on 10 am on Friday. So far, seven policemen have been executed and four others abducted in the attack that was carried out in Lakhisarai on August 29.
AS THE deadline set by Maoists expired on Friday, they killed one of the four abducted officers. The deceased has been identified as Hawaldar Lukas Tete. His body was recovered from Simaratalli Forest in Lakhisarai district on Thursday. Police officials, however, denied that the body was that of sub-inspector Abhay Yadav, one of the kidnapped officials, whom the Maoists have claimed to have executed.

The identity was confirmed when the officials found a pamphlet which belonged to the outlawed organisation. Police officials present on the spot confirmed that the body was not that of Abhay Yadav's or Rupesh Kumar Sinha. The other hostage is Mohammad Ehtesham.
