The Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar visited Jaya Siri Maha Bodhi Vihara, the Buddha Gaya centre of Maha Bodhi society of India along with his cabinet ministers on Sunday evening.
Ven. K Medhankara Thero, the Joint Secretary of the Maha Bodhi Society of India and Bhikku-In-Charge of Buddha Gaya centre warm welcome him in the society's premises. Ven. Thero led him to offered a special prayers and expressed his respects to relics of the Buddha and his two chief disciples Ven. Sariputtta and Ven. Mahamogallana.
Many senior venerable monks of Bodh gaya were gathered during his visit to Jaya Siri Maha Bodhi Vihara. This was the first visit of Kumar to the Bodh Gaya, the land of Buddha's supreme enlightenment after leading the grand alliance to a spectacular victory in Bihar assemby election. He came here to inaugurate the Buddha Mahaotsav.
After visiting the Jaya Siri Maha Bodhi Vihara, Hon'ble Chief Minister moved on towards the Kalchakra ground to inaugurate a three-day Buddha Mahaotsav.
