Nizam Museum in Hyderabad burglared, gold antiques worth several crores stolen
In one of biggest heists in India, there comes the news of stealing of gold antiques worth Rs 5o crore from Nizam Musuem in Hyderabad. The premise of the museum at Purani Haveli in the city has been sealed and 10 police teams have been formed to nab the culprits.
According to the news reports, the thieves got into the muesum at the middle of the night through a ventilator by scaling the wall with a rope.

They first twisted the CCTV cameras toward the wall near the ventilator and took away the most heavy article - a diamond-studded gold tiffin box along with some other antiques.

It is being speculated that there could be the involvement of an insider since the precision with which the heist was executed by the burlgers.

It is said that 5 security guards were on duty when the heist was executed. The muesum is located in a palace and ironically no chief curator has been in place for quite some time.

Since the burglars had entered  through the ventilator, the heist  came to light when the doors of the diaplay room were opened the next day.It is being feared that the golden tiffin box, cups and plates may have been melted by the burglars into gold lumps to be sold to jewelers.
