A media house also got a relation between all the previous divorces of Tom Cruise that all his wives leave him at the age of 33 years, which is quite true actually. What seemed to have led to the split are a number of reasons but the most important one was that Katie Holmes was not happy. She started dating Cruise when she was just rising as an actor in Hollywood and eventually became so wrapped up in her childhood crush that she did not look at her own self or her career. The fact that she was kind of forced to adopt Scientology, the faith that Cruise believes in, was also one of the many reasons for the marriage to end.
Suri, their daughter and a pampered child, as was portrayed by the media, got two kinds of parenting treatment from their high-profile parents. While Cruise treated her as adult (according to his Scientology ideals), Katie Holmes was against this idea and treated Suri like a kid. The last straw, it seems, was a photo shoot where Tom Cruise was seen with two models in a rather provocative pose.
According to TMZ Holmes has asked for equal custody, primary residential custody and a 'suitable amount' of child support from her husband. She is also asking for a division of property inspite of the previously drawn up documents that states - for each year the couple stay married, Holmes would collects $3million - to a maximum of $33 million after 11 years and also their palatial home in California. If the marriage had lasted for 11 years she would have received half of the property.
Currently, the couple are worth around $275 million. While it is not going well with most fans that Katie kind of blindsided the MI star but many of Katie's near and dear ones feel that she was unhappy for a long time, and it was about time that she moved out. It is sad when people in love cannot live together as it takes more than just love to make a marriage work. Happiness should be the mantra, whether together or apart.
