No Indian bowler or any batsmen in ICC Test ranking
It is a pity that India, which boasts itself of some of the best batsmen in the world does not even find a place in the top ten batsmen in the ICC rankings for Test matches. The same goes for the Indian bowlers as well. One can blame the latest Test series in England for such rankings, as neither the Indian batsmen nor the bowlers showed their class. It was a below par performance.

Amongst the bowlers, it is R. Ashwin who holds the highest ranking (13) amongst the Indian bowlers, which does not draw a great picture. While, Cheteshwar Pujara is placed 16th in the batsmen rankings list. One would have expected players like Kohli to feature in the top bracket, but his horrific form of late has failed him to attain a good ranking.

In the overall ranking too, India has slid down to fifth place as a result of their pathetic 3-1 loss to England recently. With the Indian team travelling down under late in the year, the Indian players need to play out of their skin in Australia, if they are to come up with a better performance and hence improve upon their rankings as well.

As far as the best Test team is concerned, it is South Africa, who tops the chart, followed by Australia, England, Sri Lanka and then India. Amongst the batsmen, it is Kumara Sangakkara, who tops the chart followed by AB De Villiers, while Dale Steyn leads the bowling chart.

Here is the ICC Test Rankings
