No lack of Squash talent in Pakistan: Jahangir Khan
Khan said that squash is an important part of his life and he wants to see a Pakistani world champion in the game soon. Jahangir Khan retired as a player in 1993, and has served as president of the World Squash Federation, since 2002.
SQUASH LEGEND and former world champion Jahangir Khan has said that three 'S' are compulsory in Squash to become an excellent player. There is no lack of talent in Pakistan; if our players work hard they can become world class players, the champion added.

In an exclusive interview, Khan said that three 'S'  refer to speed, stamina and skill, if any player keeps focus on these aspects,  he will definitely achieve a top position Squash. There was a time when Pakistani players dominated the world of squash but now its seems that we have no relation with squash.

“Pakistan is full of talent and our players have an ability to return the glory in squash but it is only possible when our players will work hard. I always give suggestions to officials of Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) but we need to change the way of giving training to National players", he emphasized.

During his career, Jahangir Khan won World Open six times and the British Open a record ten times. Between 1981 and 1986, he was unbeaten in competitive play for five years. During that time he won 555 matches consecutively. This was not only the longest winning streak in squash history, but also one of the longest unbeaten runs by any athlete in top-level professional sports.

Khan said that Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) must arrange its training camps on the pattern of countries like United Kingdom (UK), Egypt and France. “Now these countries are producing world class players in the field of Squash we must follow their System”, he added.

Answering a question, he rejected this impression that mental approach of Pakistani players is not strong. “Mental approach is not a reason of declining Squash in the country. We have to change the way of training for getting success”, he stressed.
