He might have done it like a pro but kissing other women doesn't come easy to married Arshad Warsi. His kissing scene in 'Ishqiya' has caused quite a controversy. The actor who found it 'terrifying' to kiss on reel may never repeat the performance.
THE KISSING scene in ‘Ishqiya’ between Arshad Warsi and Vidya Balan has generated lot of controversy. The ‘Kabul Express’ actor has vowed never to kiss on-screen again.
Warsi plays the role of a criminal in the movie and had said that he was enormously hesitant and Abhishek Chaubey, the director of the film had to talk to him prior to the shoot to jazz him up.
"Mark my words, this is the first and the last time I have done an on-screen kiss. Bass ho gaya, aur nahi (enough of it all)," Arshad said in an interview.
Although the ‘Munnabhai’ actor doesn’t repent his performance, since the script demanded a kiss, but he confesses that the entire experience was terrifying. "I respect the vision that Vishal Bharadwaj and director Abhishek Chaubhey carried. They explained to me the film, its texture, the setting and the characterisation due to which I was convinced about the kissing scene. But only I know how scared I was," Arshad said.
When asked about what truly persuaded him to go ahead with the scene, particularly when he was so uneasy about the whole thing, Warsi said that it was crucial to delineate the point of view of the character that he was playing.
