Beeman observes that the sacking of General Stanley McChrystal, the commander of the US and NATO forces in Afghanistan, will only help the terrorists. According to the author this move will give them encouragement and confidence.
General David Petraeus was appointed as the commander of US and Nato force after General McChrystal was sacked from the post because of the offensive comments he made on President Obama in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine.
The author said "they will interpret President Barack Obama's action as ideology trumping defence”.
Paradoxically, Beeman spent most of his professional life as a scientist at the Three Mile Island civilian nuclear facility.
Beeman, in his very first book, ‘No More Time for Sorrow’ talks about why today's broad-minded and progressive approach to terrorism is making America less safe and how an atomic bomb can be built, carried in, installed and set off by non-technical personnel.
Beeman believes that the uranium for the bomb will come from Iran. America will also see more bombers like the unsuccessful Faisal Shahzad because they know the worst they will face is the comfortable prisons, and maybe even get a parole in the end.
“No More Time For Sorrow’ is the book, which the retired scientist wants the American president to read.
