IN MY previous article 'What is the solution for adjournment of Parliament?' I sought solution for the questions raised in it through the readers. Unfortunately, none took interest in answering the question.
Well, we have no solution for our leaders who are behaving like schoolchildren and making the mockery of democracy. Today, again they managed to derail the Parliament in its tenth day; the nation is paying for it.
Opposition benches enthusiastically raised matters of bribery leading to adjournment of both the Houses, causing the public exchequer well over Rs 60 crore in the winter session until now.Since November 10, the Parliament has not managed any significant dialogue and both the Houses have been witnessing adjournments barely minutes after meeting.
The leaders may show that they are working for common man but reality is that their unruly adjournments are wasting common public’s hard earned money. It is time for government to think 'no work no pay' bill for sitting leaders and Election Commission should reform their laws, so that country people should take independent discussion on corrupt leaders. The speaker of house should force them to do work over time at least important country bills for benefit of people should be discussed.
