Nobel Biocare's dental implant programme in India
'Total Implant Proficiency' programme is designed to provide a comprehensive study on implants and its prosthetics excellence by providing a thorough clinical exposure for aspiring dentists. It is divided into five customised progressive modules.
NOBEL BIOCARE, world leaders in restorative and aesthetic dentistry, has been introduced in India for the first time, ‘The Total Implant Proficiency’ (TIP) Programme- a five-module one year programme is to be conducted in Chennai, from today, October 20, 2008.


TIP programme is the first ever programme of its kind covering from the building blocks of implantology to the advanced treatment solutions available. The main objective to introduce this programme is to continually train dental professionals on the latest and innovative techniques of implantology. Nobel Biocare, reputed for offering the finest dental education, has also done the maximum number of training and education programmes for implant education in India. The TIP programme is designed to meet the dearth of expert implantologists across the country by providing a comprehensive course, conducted by some of the best faculties.


Partnering with dental professionals, Sameer Bhat, country manager of Nobel Biocare India said, “With the practice of dental implants certainly on the rise in the Indian markets, the need for a full spectrum programme, tailored to meet the specific educational needs of a competent dental professional, cannot be emphasised more. The TIP is just that !”


Each participant will place and restore five implants in every possible clinical condition. It will give dental professionals a hand-on experience with clinical patients under guidance and supervision of expert doctors.


This programme is divided into five customised progressive modules spread for one year over 30 teaching days with lectures being conducted during weekends also. The programme will have experienced international faculty and world class Indian mentors, all stalwarts in the field. Divided in five modules, the programme will cover the following topics through live patient demonstration:


Module I – Applied Sciences, Diagnosis, Treatment Planning.
Module II – Basic Implant Surgery.
Module III – Basic Implant Prosthodontics
Module IV – Soft Tissue Management
Module V – Advanced Implant Surgery and Prosthodontics


The cost of the programme is Rs 5,50,000 plus taxes, offering Nobel Biocare’s products worth the same amount. Hence, the education and training imparted is virtually free of cost. After successful completion of the programme, Nobel Biocare will provide the professionals with post-programme support comprising consultation by faculty members. The participants will be given course completions certificates from International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) and Nobel Biocare. They will also become ICOI members for one calendar year along subscription to the ICOI journal for a year.
