IT WAS a great week for Noida residents as Delhi Metro made a trial run through this satellite town in the national Capital region. It is really rare when all citizens accept a development ungrudgingly and the entry of Metro train to Noida  was one such event.

From the Yamuna Bank Metro station to the Noida city centre in Sector 32, the Metro trial run covered a distance of about 13 KM. This corridor, known as the Noida corridor will have as many as 10 stations for the convenience of the commuters. It is likely to be operational by mid-November. Thus those who wish to visit the International Trade Fair in the pragati maidan will have a convenient mode of public transport.

The metro ticket is reasonably priced now but the cost may go up in future. As of now, right from the daily wagers to top executives find it convenient to travel by Metro. The car owners park their cars at the Metro station and thereafter forget the worries of driving. The motorman takes on that responsibility and discharges it quite well.
