Noida wins best city award: What Noidaites have to say?
Noida has won the 'Best housing' and state wise 'Best city' award 2014, beating all other cities in Uttar Pradesh. There are around 52 cities in Uttar Pradesh, but the 'best city' honour was conferred to Noida, after a thorough scrutiny of all the cities and the judgment parameters were accessibility of public transport, greenery, women security and sanitation, electricity availability, law and order and cost of properties. This title was given at ABP News best city awards 2014.

We spoke to few people from Noida about their feeling on Noida winning the best city award. Ramesh Chandra Sharma, a resident of Noida, is very happy with this but he said, “We would have been even more happy if the law and order of the city were in place, and I am also concerned about the corruption in the city.” He says that the administrators in Noida should work for it and the laws need to be tightened.”

Shweta Bharati, is feeling proud that the city where she is residing has got the best city award. “Local politicians should do their part of work to make it even more better, so that Noida would get such awards in future also,” said Bharati.

AN Dhawan, chief adviser at FONRWA, was also happy with Noida getting the best city award. But he also felt the need of development in the city, so that it becomes the most advantageous and beautiful city of the country.

Whereas Anwar Abbasi, a spokesperson at DND Flyway was overwhelmed with Noida getting the Best city award. “We feel proud that we have connected the city with the DND Flyway. And we also thank the residents of Noida to make DND Flyway the best example,” said Abbasi.

The prestigious title of the 'Best city' was given to the national capital Delhi, along with it the city also grabbed three more categories namely health-care category, Public Transport and Primary Education. Ahmedabad won the title of 'Best Power' in the country.

Chandigarh won the award for ‘Best City’ for ‘Cleanliness and Sanitation’. Andhra Pradesh’s Vishakhapatnam won the award for ‘Best Environment’ in India. And Shimla got the best city award for public services.
