PARTY BOPPERS and organisers beware! District administration will soon launch a drive during night hours to put a check on noise pollution. Those found indulge playing loud music after 10 in the night will be penalised.

It might be noted here that Supreme Court of India had already restricted a ban on loudspeaker after 10 in the night. Good news here again for Kanpurites, soon there will be an end to the blaring sound from the loudspeakers.

A committee is being formed to keep a check on noise pollution in the city on the regular complaints of Kanpurites over the late night use of loudspeakers. Loudspeaker might be the primary thing but there is one more thing, which keeps Kanpurites bothering. Well, enter into Kanpur city and it's the sound of generator We explores ahead...

District Magistrate Amrit Abhijat says, "Concerned over the regular complaints by the locals over the late night use of loudspeakers in residential and other areas, the committee has been constituted to curb the noise pollution in the city. Committee will have city magistrates, traffic department officials, Uttar Pradesh pollution control board officials and police officials.

All officials will randomly inspect all guesthouses, clubs and other party venue to check the noise pollution. The committee will have full authority to impose fine against people or others who are violating noise pollution norms. And I am sure this time strict action will be taken against people, guests houses and clubs if they found disobeying the guidelines."

Earlier also many committees have been formed by the district administration and pollution control department but the problem of noise pollution was not solved. "We have formed this committee to control noise pollution in the city. We all know that noise pollution is a big problem during wedding seasons and wedding season is about to start, so keeping this in mind this time we will keep a tight watch. If any one found playing music on loudspeakers the defaulters would not be spared.
The people violating any pollution norms would be fined. We will also carry out regular drives with the RTO and traffic department to check the use of blaring horns by the personal vehicles," informs regional officer UP pollution control board Radhey Shyam.

Administration might be implementing new laws to keep a check on noise pollution but Kanpurites have some other problems related with loud sound. “My house is just adjacent to a party venue and as soon as the power cut takes place the sound of generator troubles my family a lot and another things is the loud music played during the parties that really causes a lot of disturbance for my family. I am surprised why after many complaints no action has been taken till now. When ever we dial 100 the police control room for help they just note down the address and says abhi dekh lete hai," complains Prateek.

Its not just Prateek who is facing this problem in fact ditto is with banker Abhinav Sharma, whose residence is also close to a party venue. "My father is a heart patient and it's this loud music that adds more to his trouble. Many times I requested guesthouse owner for lowering sound level but after lowering for a little time he again increased the volume level. I don't know how to get rid of this problem I am totally helpless now," says Abhinav.

Speaking on the same DIG Prem Prakash says, "I agree that Kanpurites might be facing this problem but as far as action against such law breakers is concerned it is only possible when people get their complaints registered. The directive given by the district administration to keep a check on playing loudspeaker after 10 in the night will be taken very seriously. I have directed my staff to immediately get into action whenever anyone complaints about loud music. Also I have asked the circle officers to ask party venue owners not to allow DJ's and loudspeaker to play loud music after 10 in night. However despite of this if anyone faces problem because of the loud music he could get his complaint registered on 100 number or could contact the local police for getting it stopped."

for strict measures against noise pollution done by guest houses, instead of imposing fine on them, there guest houses should be sealed during the wedding seasons
